A spacious Tudor timber framed building with medieval origins, The Old Bakery is the oldest house in Chippenham. It occupies a prominent position in the village, conveniently situated between the church and the pub! The attractive south-facing, walled garden overlooks paddocks.

Four Poster Bed Lounge area Refectory table

You can't fail to be impressed by the magnificent, heavily beamed lounge with its interesting and unusual frieze over the huge inglenook fireplace. Adjoining is the equally impressive dining room with a unique solid elm refectory table. Upstairs the well- equipped and traditionally decorated bedrooms lead off a spacious hallway full of character with an uneven floor and sloping walls. All our bedrooms are en-suite and have colour TV, hospitality trays, trouser press, radio/alarm, and hairdryers. The wealth of beams, the mellow walls, the beautiful prints, and the sumptuous soft furnishings, give the whole house a warm and cosy feel, much commented on by guests.

Being close to the A11/A14 and M11, The Old Bakery is an ideal base for visiting the many historic Towns and Cities in the area. Cambridge, Bury St Edmunds and Ely are all within a 15 mile radius. Newmarket is only 4 miles and Stansted Airport is a 40-minute drive.
